Mexico's most famous tree, the Tule Tree, grows near Oaxaca City. It may not be the largest or the oldest tree in the world, but it has no contenders for widest girth award. This coming Monday -- the second Monday in October -- the community celebrates its natural wonder. Come hungry to Tule Tree Day! There will be tasty empanadas, barbacoa and traditional nieves (sherbet).
